“When you feel like quitting, ask yourself why you started”

Young minds are often exposed to the cruelties of the world and vulnerable to all types of impressions. Every little comment made on physical appearance, leaves an imprint and henceforth decides the fate of the child. And if you are an overweight kid, life is not a smooth sail at all. Constantly struggling with obesity throughout his life, Debasis Tripathy made it his life’s mission that no one will make him feel low just because of his outward physical appearance, and rather he built this as his armor and decided to become a role model for people suffering from body issues and self-doubts. He overturned his life completely and thus began his journey to a healthier and fitter life.

His day began and ended in the gym. Constantly having fitness in his mind, he wanted to do something for the youth suffering from similar body insecurities and prove to them that everything can be changed once you set your mind to something. His expedition to discover himself has truly been encouraging and heartening to everyone. “The last four reps are what make the difference. This area of pain divides the champion from the trivial.”

Where time puts perseverance to trial, Debasis proved himself with his undying determination by following the fitness regime for 8 years religiously, transforming himself into a body builder. While not compromising over the quality of work, he has never missed a single workout session. Debasis has been part of Quess for past 8 years in the recruitment team and is a living proof of how one can successfully balance work and lust.

For every brick that was thrown at him, he used them to build his dream picture of a fit body. “Have you ever thought what actually bothers you? It’s you, your fear of getting rejected, and your fear of what people are thinking.” His intense dedication has brought him many honors too. He won the title of Mr. Karnataka Soldier in 2015. He was in the top 5 finalists of Muthappa Rai Cup in 2016 and reached the top 10 of Kabba Cup, 2018”. A certified instructor in Mat Pilates Level 1 and 2 and in strength training Level 4 from FASSA, he dedicates all his accomplishments to his team in Quess who have supported him in times when he needed them the most.

Believing in the words that the resistance that you fight physically in the gym and the resistance that you fight in life can only build a strong character, he has proven that mind is the only inhibitor to one’s success and as long as your mind can envision the fact you can do something, you can truly do it.

“For me, life is in continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer. Quess has given me the opportunity to live my dream to the fullest and this is how I am Quess!”
